This cruise line card offers more discounts and better welcome offers than most.

Review of the Celebrity Cruises Visa Signature Card

The Celebrity Cruises Visa Signature Card gives frequent cruisers a way to save money on their next cruise by earning 2X MyCruise® points on purchases with Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean®, and Azamara Club Cruises® and 1X points on all other purchases.  Although this card carries a $69 annual fee, if you’re sure you’ll be cruising at least once a year, the card will pay for itself with its food, beverage, and airline discounts.

As a welcome offer for new cardholders, you will earn 10,000 MyCruise® bonus points when you make just one purchase within 90 days, a $300 discount on a future cruise when you spend $5,000 within the first 90 days, and another 10,000 anniversary MyCruise® points if you spend $10,000 in the first year.  MyCruise® points redeemable for onboard credits, stateroom upgrades, discounts, cruises and more.

Keep in mind that points expire after 5 years, so if you don’t spend very much on the card you’re unlikely to accumulate very many rewards before they expire.

Pro Tip:

Unlike frequent flyer programs, cruise credit cards aren’t linked to the cruise line’s loyalty program so spending more on your cruise card won’t bump you up to a higher loyalty status, but it will get you discounts and maybe even a free cruise.

The Bottom Line
This card is worthwhile only if you plan to spend at least $10,000 on the card in the first year, pay your balance every month, and take a cruise on Celebrity Cruises (or its sister cruise lines) every year. Otherwise, you should consider a more flexible cash back or travel credit card. For a no annual fee cruise line option, consider the Royal Caribbean Visa Signature® card, which also earns MyCruise® points redeemable on Celebrity Cruises.

Signed up for this card while on board a cruise. The Future Cruise Department told us it has no Yearly fee, yet all the literature on here states there is a fee. Called the number on back of the card, they could not help. They told me to call Visa. Visa said they are a second market for the card and did not know...And the story continues.
