This card is designed for Unite Airlines frequent fliers who are more focused on earning miles than achieving tier status or lounge access.

Review of the United MileagePlus Explorer Card

With the United MileagePlus Explorer Card you'll earn unlimited 2X miles on United ticket purchases and 1X on all other purchases. Miles can be redeemed to book travel with Star Alliance™ and other partner airlines, upgrades, inflight purchases, hotel stays, and car rentals. Miles can also be used for merchandise, gift cards, and special events.

As a sign-up bonus you can earn 40,000 bonus miles after you spend $2,000 on purchases in the first 3 months. And since one-way Saver Award travel starts as low as 12,500 miles, these bonus miles can go a long way towards your next trip.

Additionally you ca earn 5,000 bonus miles after you add the first authorized user and make a purchase during the first 3 months.

Although this card doesn't include United Club membership like the pricer Club version (annual fee $450), you will earn 2 United Club one-time passes each year on your account anniversary. Access to United Club includes complimentary bevearges, snacks, and amenitites like workspaces, free Wi-Fi and more.
