CreditCardRewards.com Review

Best For...
This invitation-only card is a status symbol to be sure, but other than the fact that is made of palladium, it is virtually identical to the Chase Sapphire Reserve Card.

Review of the J.P. Morgan Reserve Card

The J.P. Morgan Reserve Card, formerly known as Chase Palladium, is by invitation only, reportedly only for individuals with at least $10 million in assets managed by J.P. Morgan.

In spite of its high profile status and unique composition (made of palladium), the rewards are identical to those you’d earn with the Chase Sapphire Reserve Card: 3X points on travel and dining, 1X points on everything else, and an annual $300 travel credit. As with the Chase Sapphire Reserve Card, these Chase Ultimate Rewards can be transferred on a 1:1 basis to one of 11 airline and hotel partners and as a sign-up bonus you can earn 100,000 Ultimate Rewards® points after spending $4,000 with Chase within the first 3 months. The only difference is the J.P. Morgan Reserve Card also gives you United Club membership.

The Bottom Line
If you were already a Palladium cardholder and won’t qualify for the new J.P. Morgan Reserve sign-up bonus, it makes sense to sign-up for the Chase Sapphire Reserve card instead, which will get you the exact same rewards plus a sign-up bonus.

United club not included

I have this card, and I love it, but it does not offer United club membership since 2019. The card was competing with the United club card on that, and they canceled that particular reward.

Q:  I have Chase Sapphire Reserve why i cant exchange with a JP Morgan reserve my point is: same fee, same benefits same fico score (mine 839) but has to be offered !
asked 3 years ago

A:  The J.P. Morgan Reserve card is meant to be exclusively for clients of J.P. Morgan (requires $10MM under management with J.P. Morgan), though it may be possible to apply for the card through your private banker if you are part of the Chase Private Client program (requires $200k in assets at Chase)

Q:  You missed that the card gives you united lounge membership.
asked 3 years ago

A:  Thanks for the reminder, though it appears as though this card no longer offers United Club membership. For that you'd need the United MileagePlus Club Card.

Q:  I have Chase Sapphire Preferred with over 50,000 points...If I get JP Morgan Reserve, can the points be transferred to it?

A:  Points earned on both cards are used as part of the Ultimate Rewards program, within which you can transfer points from one card to another, as long as your accounts are in good standing.
